A successful candidate will have the following:

FH seeks an experienced Public Resource Development (PRD) Director to lead our new business development function, working closely with the ecosystem to align new business activities to FH’s long-term organizational, technical, and country strategies. The qualified PRD Director will have 10+ years of experience in business development and institutional funding acquisition. The top candidate will also have at least 5 years of experience managing a large team and a Master’s Degree in a related field.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to solve complex issues.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with internal colleagues and contacts in donor and peer organizations.
  • Ability to mentor others and model successful management techniques and approaches.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

What you’ll do…

As the PRD Director, you will:

  • Manage and provide strategic leadership to the Public Resource Development Team, ensuring the identification, production, and submission of high-quality proposals.
  • Keep abreast of major trends in the marketplace, attending workshops and conferences to ensure the relevance of the company’s bidding strategy.
  • Identify and mobilize the resources (financial, human) needed to support individual proposal efforts adequately. 
  • Build the capacity and strengthen the ability of staff from critical departments to support new business development.
  • Develop, monitor and report on key organizational new business metrics and pipeline.
  • Develop, implement, and manage all processes, tools, systems, and templates.
  • Cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Manage the successful development of compliant, competitive, and compelling proposals.
