Our organization

At War Child we work to improve the resilience and well-being of children living with violence and armed conflict.

The financial team consists of the financial manager, the controllers and the financial administration team. You are part of the financial administration team that consists of a team leader and three financial employees, including you.

You provide a supporting contribution by performing administrative tasks, processing relevant data and providing information. In addition, you provide proactive analyses, create reports, develop financial tools and have external contacts with, for example, banks, system developers, partners and accountants and answer their questions independently.

Your tasks:

  • Processing administrative transactions in the designated administration, including intercompany bookings with the country offices, time sheets, invoices and memo journals.
  • Checks and specifies balances periodically and in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Prepare and process outgoing payments.
  • Processing incoming payments.
  • Checking and processing the monthly payroll administration.
  • You are aware of Dutch VAT legislation and escalate (risks of) non-compliance of incoming (expenses) and outgoing (donor) invoices.
  • You ensure that employees follow the processes and procedures with regard to, for example, declarations and other internal financial requirements.
  • You ensure that the confidentiality of all confidential information (such as salary information) is maintained, knowing which information you are not allowed to share.
  • Solving new problems within prescribed guidelines and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to and participate in cross-departmental working groups (such as the purchasing platform).

Your profile

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Relevant education(s)
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Unit4
  • An eye for detail and good organizational skills
  • Good command of the Dutch and/or English language
  • Positive-critical team player
  • You fully support the objectives of War Child

  • Salary ranges from €3108 to €3865 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact amount is determined by the years of your relevant work experience)
  • 8% holiday allowance based on the annual salary
