Overview of position

  • To serve as the Co-Facilitator in the preparation, delivery & reporting on this training course.
     

Role objectives

Specific objectives:

  • To co-facilitate the training course.
  • To collaborate closely with the Lead Trainer during the planning & delivery of the course.
  • To support the preparation of the course report.

Methodology:

  • The methodology should be in line with the course curriculum, with variations agreed in advance with the CALP team.

Key deliverables / outputs for the delivery of course:

  • Delivery of a high quality Training of Trainers course, using CALP training materials, contextualising materials as appropriate to the setting & participants.
  • Evaluation feedback & training report inputs.
  • Written feedback & recommendations to inform a brief training report.
Activities Days Deliverables
Preparation:  1 Facilitation agenda finalised & appropriate session materials printed / prepared
Preparation, namely coordinating with Lead Trainer in the allocation of roles & session delivery responsibilities
     
Facilitation:  5 High quality delivery of TOT 5 day core programs course
Deliver of one 5 day Training of Trainer course
Facilitate full sessions as planned with Lead Trainer
Provide support during other sessions & activities, as necessary
     
Evaluation and reporting: 0.5 Evaluation
Participate in a course debriefing with the Lead Trainer, including a review of participant evaluation forms Training Report
Support the preparation of a course report  
     
Total number of consultant days 6.5 Invoice, timesheet, receipts, deliverables

Project reporting

  • This piece of work is commissioned by our client in partnership with the Cash Working Group Somalia to be supported by CALP Network. Our client / CWG Programmatic Co-Chair as supported by CALP East Africa will provide overall oversight of the training.
  • The Co-Lead Trainer will work closely with our client / Cash Working Group Programmatic Co-Chair as supported by CALP’s Regional Office, as they will provide support for the planning & delivery of the course.
  • CALP will support the preparation of the training & revision of training materials.
  • CALP will also assist in the screening & finalization of the TOT list of participants as provided by the Somalia CWG based on the recommendation of the Core CVA Cash Trainers as a result of cash training in Somaliland, Mogadishu & Baidoa on February 2024 & April 2024 respectively.

Key competencies

For this piece of work, CALP is looking for the following expertise:

  • Be a CALP certified trainer.
  • Ideally have delivered the core CVA skills for program staff at least 3 times.
  • Ideally have co-facilitated a CALP TOT or any type of TOT.
  • Good understanding of current good practices regarding CVA globally.
  • Substantial knowledge & experience in capacity building, including adult learning methodological approaches, tools & strong skills in facilitation, including Training of Trainers courses.
  • Experience developing training materials, preferably CVA training materials.
  • Knowledge & work experience of the ways of working of humanitarian NGOs (local & international), state actors (e.g. National Disaster Management Authorities (NDMA) & social welfare departments), UN agencies & private sector actors (e.g. financial service providers).

Team management

  • This role has no team management responsibility.
