Justice 4.0 is one of the world's largest digital transformation programs for the Judiciary. Launched in 2020, the result of a cooperation agreement signed between the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP/UN), the project aims to develop and improve technological solutions to make the services offered by the Brazilian Justice system more efficient, effective and accessible to the population, in addition to optimizing procedural management for judges, civil servants, lawyers and other actors in the Justice system. The initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN 2030 Agenda.

Duties and responsibilities

The Project Associate will be responsible for distributing functions to the project team, managing activities at different stages and monitoring the technical quality of products developed within the context of the Justice 4.0 Program. The professional will work closely with the CNJ and UNDP teams and the following indicative activities are planned:

• Monitor and record the actions planned within the scope of the project, based on the definition of the established goals and priority deliveries, as well as the management strategies and monitoring tools defined by UNDP and CNJ;
• Identify, document, manage and solve problems that may arise during the execution of the project;
• Monitor the planning and implementation of project actions, contributing to compliance with the project schedule and ensuring the quality of the deliveries to be made;
• Carry out administrative procedures related to the development of project systems, in coordination with the designated supervisor;
• Provide technical support for the implementation of project initiatives, organizing external and internal strategies to solve demands, in coordination with the designated supervisor;
• Carry out missions, meetings and other activities to execute the action plan and technical monitoring and qualitative monitoring of products and goals; and
• The incumbent performs other functions within his/her functional profile that he/she considers necessary for the proper functioning of the project. 

Institutional Arrangement

The person hired will be supervised by Project Management and Technical Project Coordination.

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum education requirements:

High School Diploma is required; or
University Degree (Bachelor's Degree) in the areas of Administration, Law, Public Management, Information Technology, International Relations, IT Governance or related fields will be given due consideration, but is not a requirement.

Minimum years of relevant professional experience:

Minimum of 7 years (with completed high school) or 4 years (with university degree) of professional or academic experience in the area of project management. 

Required skills:

Oral and written communication skills;
Ability to use information technology; and
Knowledge of the office package.

Desired skills, in addition to the skills covered in the Skills section:

• Experience in project management in the area of Information Technology;
• Experience in project management;
• Professional experience in IT management and governance;
• Experience in agile methodologies;
• Experience in the development and implementation of systems; and
• Experience in projects or activities linked to the public sector or the Judiciary.

Required languages:

Fluency in Portuguese.
Intermediate knowledge of English will be considered an advantage.
