The Team Leader shall be responsible for delivering the entire assignment in according with the Contract. S/he should possess a wide breadth of experience in urban transport in fast developing cities. S/he should be very aware of the interrelationships between transport modes and land use planning together with transports relationship with wider multi-sectoral aims and objectives. S/he will have the capacity to work in close partnership with the Client to ensure the local context and be sensitive to cultural values. Experience in BRT development is essential.
Specifically, S/he should have the following professional qualifications, skills, and experience:
· A minimum of a University graduate (preferably with a post-graduate degree) in civil engineering, urban / transport planning or equivalent
· At least 15 years of working experience in urban public transport/or urban transport planning projects
· Successful completion of at least 5 similar (feasibility and detailed design) BRT assignments
· At least 4 years of experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or other cities in the global.
· Experience as a leader of multidisciplinary teams directing at least 5 BRT design or supervision projects
· Skills: Fluency in English.
