WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for Horticultural Crops (Betel, Durian, Pineapples) Expert/ Trainer who will be working based at Yangon with field visit to project areas.

Objectives
The consultant’s primary objective is to enhance the capacity of local farmers in sustainable betel nut and durian cultivation. To achieve sustainability, it is crucial that local farmer groups possess the necessary experiences and skills to improve crop cultivation. The trainer’s role will be to focus on addressing crop-specific pests, diseases, and other climate change related issues that burden farmers, and to identify effective solutions which help address the agricultural issues of the farmers.
The trainer’s responsibilities include:
- Field visits and designing and delivering interactive and training sessions tailored to local contexts and specific needs.
- Developing handouts and training materials in Myanmar language.
- Conducting pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate the knowledge improvement of local farmers.
- Providing optimal solutions to farmers’ compliance issues
- Submitting a concise expert/training report with recommendations to address the identified solutions.

Requirements
- A postgraduate degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field, or a certification in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience working with farmers.
- Demonstrated experience in training and capacity development, particularly in community-based settings.
- Individuals with substantial and robust experience and capabilities in working with farmers of horticultural crops will be considered for academic qualification with special attention.
