Located in Aden, AFH serves as a critical hub for artisanal fishing communities, playing a major role in improving local livelihoods, enabling market access & contributing to national food security.
  • To ensure that this rehabilitation effort adheres to international & national standards, particular attention is being placed on environmental & social safeguard compliance, including Occupational Health & Safety (OHS). This is essential given the harbour’s complex operational environment & the wide range of stakeholders engaged in its use & redevelopment.

To ensure compliance & minimize potential risks, our client is recruiting a dedicated Environmental, OHS Safeguard Consultant.

  • Each ESMP will be developed in close consultation with key stakeholders, validated through field assessments & aligned with national regulations & our clients SES. These deliverables will be linked to the consultant’s monthly outputs & payment schedule.

Conduct risk assessments:

  • Carry out SES risk assessments, enforce preventive & corrective actions for high risk activities.
  • Safe removal of asbestos & ammonia:
  • In coordination with the EPA, develop & oversee a plan for the safe identification, removal & disposal of asbestos containing materials & ammonia systems at AFH. This includes risk assessment, engagement of certified removal contractors & strict adherence to occupational health & environmental standards. All activities must be monitored, documented, reported to ensure full compliance & safe closure.
