As part of our capacity-building portfolio, we are building a roster of qualified and experienced trainers in South Sudan who can design and deliver participatory training across a broad range of technical and operational areas.
Role Description
Trainers will be contracted on a short-term or assignment basis and will be responsible for:
- Designing customized training modules tailored to adult learners working in humanitarian and development sectors.
- Delivering in-person and/or virtual trainings to diverse groups including local NGOs, government staff, and community-based organizations.
- Facilitating interactive sessions using adult learning principles, role plays, case studies, and participatory approaches.
- Conducting pre- and post-training assessments to measure learning gains and training effectiveness.
- Preparing concise training reports including session evaluations, attendance records, and practical recommendations.
- Adapting content to local cultural and operational contexts in South Sudan.
- Collaborating with STOOS program teams to refine materials and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Candidates with experience delivering training in multiple areas and in multilingual or low-literacy settings are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in training, facilitation, and/or adult education, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Proven ability to deliver tailored training sessions in resource-limited or conflict-affected areas.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in the relevant technical area (e.g., M&E, finance, gender, protection, etc.).
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Juba Arabic, Dinka, Nuer, Bari) is an asset.
- Ability to travel to field locations and operate in austere environments, with understanding of access and security dynamics in South Sudan.
