About MAGENTA

MAGENTA is a global leading social and behaviour change (SBC) agency working across the MENA region and conflict-affected contexts to deliver behaviourally informed, evidence-based programming. MAGENTA is headquartered and locally registered in Amman and maintains a strong operational presence across Jordan and neighbouring countries. The organisation has a proven track record in delivering participatory communication campaigns, strategic narrative design, and capacity-building initiatives—particularly in conflict-affected and post-conflict settings. Our approach combines behavioural insight, communications strategy, and conflict sensitivity to support local actors in achieving tangible and sustainable change.

Role Summary

MAGENTA is seeking a Grants Manager to oversee the design, management, and monitoring of a grant-making facility supporting civil society and community-based organisations in Jordan. The project aims to build community resilience to digital harms and online radicalisation, promote inclusive governance, and support organisations working with women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.

The Grants Manager will be based in-country, in Jordan, and lead the grant lifecycle process, support technical alignment between partners and programme objectives, and provide hands-on capacity strengthening to local actors. The position requires excellent grants management skills, a strong understanding of the Jordanian civil society ecosystem, and an ability to work collaboratively in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Grants & Partnership Management

  • Lead the management of the grant-making facility, including design of selection criteria, partner onboarding, disbursement, and compliance monitoring.
  • Serve as primary liaison with local civil society and community-based partners.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for all sub-awardees in accordance with programme and donor standards.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to partners, especially those working in digital resilience, social inclusion, and online safety.

Capacity Building & Technical Support

  • Design and facilitate workshops or one-on-one support for grantees in grant management, storytelling, communications, and project delivery.
  • Support partners in developing adaptive, evidence-informed approaches to tackle digital harms and strengthen community resilience.
  • Contribute to participatory learning activities and ensure cross-partner knowledge sharing.

Strategy Alignment & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure partner activities are aligned with project objectives related to youth engagement, women’s empowerment, digital safety, and community cohesion.
  • Coordinate with MAGENTA technical advisors to ensure strategic coherence and high-quality outputs.
  • Promote ethical and inclusive practices in partner content, outreach, and engagement methods.

Coordination, Reporting & Learning

  • Maintain close coordination with programme management and MEL teams to ensure partner activities contribute to programme results and learning agenda.
  • Oversee grant reporting processes, track milestones, and troubleshoot delivery challenges.
  • Contribute to the synthesis of grantee insights and success stories for learning and communications outputs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

·      At least 7–10 years of experience in grant management, capacity building, or civil society programming, preferably in Jordan.

·      Proven experience working with CSOs and CBOs on resilience, digital safety, inclusion, or youth and gender-focused initiatives.

·      Proven experience managing or supporting multi-year, multi-million dollar government-funded programmes (preferably with the FCDO), including oversight of sub-grants, compliance, and reporting.

·      Strong understanding of civil society operating space in Jordan, including legal, political, and cultural dynamics.

·      Demonstrated ability to support local partners in managing funding and implementing high-impact interventions.

·      Experience facilitating participatory workshops and coaching partners on grant administration or programme delivery.

·      Familiarity with digital harms, online safety, or behaviour change approaches is an asset.

·      Fluent in Arabic and English, with excellent written communication skills in both.

Deployment & Location

The Grants Manager must be based in Jordan and able to travel regularly within the country to engage directly with civil society partners and stakeholders.
