About the Team

GRC’s work in preventing forced labour focuses on investigative research, advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration to uncover evidence of forced labour within global critical mineral supply chains.

Duty Station: Preferable Washington, USA, based.

Full / Part-time: Part-time (15-20 hours per week)

The Role

We are seeking a U.S. Government Focused Consultant that creates opportunities for GRC teams to educate USG policy makers and agency staff on State Imposed Forced labor issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an influence plan targeting USG agencies including Commerce, Energy, DHS, DOL (ILAB), State, USTR, and relevant Congressional members, staff and committees.
• Identify and liaise with procurement staff and leadership of USG agencies to educate about risks to USG supply chains.
• Secure meetings and briefings with key policy staff and leadership at relevant agencies.
• Provide strategic advice and insider intelligence on Capitol Hill and interagency coordination processes.
• Create opportunities for GRC Project Director and other team members to interact with USG stakeholders.

Your Background

• Proven track record of influencing U.S. government policy on human rights, forced labor, or China-related legislation.
• Strong, existing relationships with relevant agency staff, leadership and Congress.
• Understanding of USG procurement regulations and practices. Connections to procurement officials at the agency level.
• Deep understanding of UFLPA implementation, Customs enforcement procedures, and corporate supply chain accountability frameworks.
• Comfortable “working the Hill,” leveraging informal relationships, and navigating bureaucracy.
