We support governments, investors, and development finance institutions in structuring and implementing complex projects that meet the highest ESG, social impact, and compliance standards. Your role:

The ESG Officer (Intern) at Skykapital will support the ESG team in coordinating the preparation of E&S safeguards documentation for infrastructure and development projects. The intern will assist in baseline data collection, documentation review, research, and project screenings in line with international standards followed by DFIs. Success in this role involves strong analytical and reporting skills, scientific rigor, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple research and documentation tasks on tight timelines in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Desktop review of project documentation

·        Data collection and reporting for environmental and social baseline studies

·        Support in developing ESG safeguard documentation in line with international frameworks (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank EHS Guidelines, etc.)

·        Research & development on thematic ESG topics

·        Media monitoring and reputational risk screening

·        Risk assessments and ESG screenings for sensitive large scale projects

 

Qualifications:

We are seeking a Paris-based Master’s student currently enrolled in Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Development, International Cooperation or Development, Environmental & Social Sciences or related field.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and French)

·        Strong reporting and documentation delivery abilities

·        A research-oriented mindset with attention to scientific rigor in data collection and analysis

·        Strong time management and adaptability, with respect for deadlines

·        An understanding of ESG issues in emerging markets and development finance context is highly valued

 

This role offers exposure to international standards and ESG frameworks, experience contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects, and mentorship from sustainability professionals working at the intersection of finance, development, and impact.
