Consultant for EU Law and Policy Advocacy
Background
The Center for Reproductive Rights (the Center) is a global human rights organisation working across the world to ensure the advancement of law and policy on reproductive rights for the dignity, equality, health, and well-being of every person. In Europe, the Center works in close collaboration with civil society organisations, lawyers, medical professionals, human rights defenders, and sexual and reproductive rights movements. We seek the adoption of laws and policies that advance and protect reproductive rights, safeguard against retrogression, and ensure governments adhere to human rights standards and clinical best practices. We also work to strengthen protections for reproductive rights through engagement and advocacy with the European Union institutions and at the Council of Europe.
Purpose of the consultancy
The Center is seeking a Brussels-based consultant to support its work at the European Union level. This consultancy will provide desk-based support and research, as well as other assistance, to advance the Center’s activities at the EU level.
The consultant will be supervised by the Center’s Legal Advisor for Europe who is based in Brussels.

Duration
Initial contract for six months and approximately 25 hours per week for agreed deliverables. Flexibility to adjust time commitment as needed and possibility for future contracts for additional deliverables. Availability to handle urgent matters with flexibility and on short notice is also expected.

Location and Working Hours
This is a Brussels-based consultancy. The Center’s Europe Office is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and we require a consultant who can align their working hours to Central European Time (CET).
