Advance implementation of the Strategic Plan on Human Rights 2024-2029, including facilitating legislative and institutional measures for the establishment of the National Human Rights Institution

Expertise

Human Rights law and policy Expert (TL):

• General description of the position: Human Rights law and policy expertise (Team Leader)
• Expert category: Place of performance - Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: Completed university studies of at least 3 years, attested by a diploma. In its absence 5 years of equivalent professional experience in disciplines related to Social and Political Sciences; Public Administration; Law; or related field. Master's Degree level in disciplines related to Social and Political Sciences; Public Administration; Law would be considered a strong advantage
• General professional experience: At least 12 years experience in the field of human rights and policy development or justice reform.
• Specific professional experience: At least three assignments completed in developing countries; At least three completed assignments and a total of at least 5 years experience implementing EU governance, justice or legal reform projects; Proven experience on integrating gender equality and women's empowerment in governance would be an advantage; Proven experience from human rights institutions would be a strong advantage; Human rights institution experience in a Commonwealth context or in the Pacific context would be highly regarded.
• Language skills: The expert must be fully proficient in written and spoken English.
• Number of working days: 226 days
