Team Leader – Research on Youth & TVET in Lebanon

In this role, you will lead a team at MAGENTA in a nation-wide research project into how youth age 15 to 24 years perceive the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector (public and private) in Lebanon and what enablers and barriers shape enrolment and retention. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the generated insights are comprehensive, representative, and actionable for NGO and governmental decisionmakers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Team Leader is expected to provide up to 20 working days of input between December 2025 and the end of February 2026. The schedule of work will align with the overall project timeline and key deliverables and will be coordinated internally with the MAGENTA team. Flexibility may be required to accommodate review cycles and consultation meetings with clients and partners. Expected responsibilities include:
Lead overall research design and strategy to examine perceptions, attitudes, beliefs, and emotions toward Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) among adolescents, youth, caregivers, and teachers.
Participate in data brainstorming and supervise data collection processes, ensuring methodological rigor, ethical standards, and inclusion of diverse demographic groups.
Engage with and synthesize insights from key stakeholders, including students, caregivers, educators, employers, and local authorities.
Review analysis and reports, ensuring data triangulation and analytical integration across qualitative and quantitative components of the research.
Facilitate team coordination, assigning roles and monitoring progress to maintain quality and adherence to timelines.
Lead validation and dissemination workshops, presenting findings to relevant partners and stakeholders.
Ensure high-quality reporting and documentation, including interim briefs and final research outputs.
REQUIREMENTS
Masters in social/behavioural sciences, education, public policy, or similar fields required;
Minimum 7-10 years professional experience with at least 3 years experience in research. Experience in participatory approaches to youth- and adolescent-related research highly preferred;
Substantial knowledge of youth and employment issues in Lebanon, particularly Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs and perceptions;
Demonstrated experience executing research driven by Behavioural Drivers Model and Socio-Ecological Model frameworks preferred;
Ability to work effectively, respectfully and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings;
Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic required;
Technological and software fluency, including Office 365.
