Position: Senior Water Resources, water supply and sanitation engineer, Hydrology & Hydraulic Modelling Expert (Permanent Staff)

Type of Contract: Permanent, full-time

Location: Padova HQ / hybrid / international missions as applicable]

Background

To strengthen its permanent technical team, SGI Studio Galli is seeking a highly qualified Water Resources, Hydrology, water supply and sanitation engineer, Hydraulic Modelling and design Expert, possibly with international experience. The selected candidate will play a key role in the preparation of technical Proposals, coordination, technical assistance and implementation of complex water resources and infrastructure projects financed by National and international donors.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education

  • Master’s degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, or closely related discipline.

 

Training and hands-on experience in advanced modelling tools, including but not limited to:

  • Integrated catchment and hydrological modelling (e.g. MIKE SHE, HEC-HMS)
  • Groundwater modelling (e.g. FEFLOW or equivalent)
  • Hydraulic and hydrodynamic modelling (1D/2D/3D) (e.g. MIKE 11, HEC-RAS, TELEMAC, BASEMENT)
  • Drainage and urban flood modelling (e.g. EPA SWMM)
  • Water distribution systems (e.g. EPANET)

 

 

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 08 years of professional experience in water resources engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology, hydraulics, and water quality.
  • Strong background in:
    • Water resources planning and management,
    • Water supply and sanitation engineering
    • River basin management and IWRM
    • Flood risk management and urban drainage
    • Irrigation and dam projects (including gravity dams and multipurpose schemes)
    • Hydropower, water supply and sanitation infrastructure
    • Climate change adaptation and environmental management
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrological surveys, monitoring of surface and groundwater, and data analysis.
  • Extensive involvement in modelling-based feasibility studies, master plans, and detailed design.

 

 

Technical Skills

  • Experience in procurement processes, Proposals preparation and Tender documents.
  • Solid experience in preparation and implementation of technical assistance projects,

 

Languages:

  • English and French: Excellent spoken and written proficiency
  • (Additional languages are an asset)
