University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, business administration, trade, development economics, or a related field
At least 10 years of professional experience
Proven experience in project management, management of complex processes, and intercultural cooperation
Close professional exposure to the German and Chinese agricultural sectors
Excellent written and spoken English
Additional Qualifications (Asset)
In-depth knowledge of agribusiness, agricultural value chains, and market analysis
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the agribusiness sector, preferably in international or development cooperation projects
Experience working with public and private stakeholders
Knowledge of the Chinese agricultural and food sector or professional experience in China or East Asia
Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills
Confident negotiation skills and experience engaging with high-level partners and institutions
Excellent communication, facilitation, and moderation skills
Knowledge of German is desirable
Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong asset
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide strategic and technical advisory services on agribusiness, agricultural markets, and value chains in the context of EU–China cooperation
Support the preparation and implementation of market-oriented and policy-relevant studies, analyses, and recommendations
Contribute to the design and implementation of activities related to market access, sustainable agriculture, food safety, and green transition
Facilitate dialogue and cooperation between EU and Chinese public institutions, private sector actors, and international stakeholders
Support coordination of project activities and ensure coherence across technical components
Contribute to the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and technical documents
Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and high-level consultations
Support knowledge sharing, communication, and visibility of EU best practices and approaches
