Description

“Project Implementation Consultants for Upgradation works of 11kV Feeders, Installation of Asset Performance Monitoring System (APMS) on 100 & 200 kVA Distribution Transformers, and Installation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).”

Environment HSE & Social Monitoring Specialist (Environmental Engineer)

  • The expert shall have at least a bachelor‘s degree in environmental sciences or B.Sc. Environmental Engineering or an equivalent degree from a recognized University.
  • At least experience of 07 years on similar projects.
  • The expert should also have experience working in health and safety for infrastructure projects for two years.
  • The expert shall have completed at least two projects with a similar role funded by IFIs (ADB, World Bank, JICA, etc.).
  • High sense of teamwork, organization, and responsibility.
  • Supervise the implementation of Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMPs), contractors‘ Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management plans.
  • Review and endorse site-specific ESMPs and OHS management plans for the sub-projects, prepared by the Contractors.
  • Supervise environmental monitoring and conduct regular OHS inspections and audits to ensure that the day-to-day construction activities are carried out in an environmentally sound and safe manner.
  • Prepare additional environmental assessments, if required, compliant with ADB guidelines, and ensure that all required mitigation measures are identified and acceptable.
  • Ensure that during implementation of the project, ADB‘s Social and Resettlement Safeguards requirements and other national/international environmental and social management procedures & Standards are met.
  • Ensure that the Contractors comply with the measures and requirements relevant to ESMP, and any corrective or preventative actions set out in ESMP and Environmental Monitoring Reports.
  • Ensure that Contractors include the HSE parameters based on Job Hazard Analysis in their Method Statement.
  • Ensure onsite HSE compliance by the civil works consultants/contractor at project sites.
