About the Role

Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd. is seeking a Contract Administrator / Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead all commercial and contractual aspects of a major water infrastructure supervision project. The role will focus on contract administration, cost control, claims management, and financial reporting, ensuring the Client’s interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·        Administer construction contracts in line with project requirements.

·        Review and certify interim payments and final accounts.

·        Measure and verify quantities of completed works.

·        Assess and manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes.

·        Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Client.

·        Maintain full contractual documentation and records.

·        Support procurement and tender evaluation processes.

·        Monitor project costs and identify financial risks.

·        Participate in progress meetings and provide commercial updates.

·        Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and claims assessments.

·        Coordinate with engineering teams on variation impacts.

·        Undertake additional responsibilities as required, in line with the evolving needs of the role and the business.

Key Requirements

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.

·        Minimum 15 years’ experience in contract administration / QS roles.

·        Preferably a Postgraduate Diploma in Contract Administration.

·        Strong experience with FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.

·        Proven experience in large infrastructure or water projects.

·        Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.

·        Chartered status (e.g. MRICS or equivalent) is Desirable

·        Strong understanding of procurement strategies and dispute resolution.

·        Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
