Structural Engineer / Team Leader for Mozambique – Cuamba Agro-Processing Hub (APH) - SAPZ Program – AfDB Financed Project

SGI Studio Galli Ingegneria Italy) is seeking a highly qualified Structural Engineer / Team Leader for a major infrastructure assignment under the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Program in Mozambique, financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The assignment concerns the preparation of the Master Plan, Detailed Engineering Design, Environmental and Social Studies, and Construction Supervision for the Cuamba Agro-Processing Hub (APH) in Niassa Province, Mozambique.

Key Responsibilities:  The Team Leader will coordinate the multidisciplinary consultancy team and oversee:

• Preparation of conceptual master plan and detailed engineering designs;
• Supervision of roads, drainage, water supply, power infrastructure and buildings;
• Structural assessment and review of infrastructure components;
• Contract administration and construction supervision under FIDIC conditions;
• Coordination of environmental and social safeguard implementation;
• Reporting and liaison with the Client and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
• Registered/Chartered Professional Engineer;
• Minimum 18 years of experience in infrastructure design and supervision;
• Proven experience managing large civil engineering projects;
• Strong experience in roads, buildings, bridges, hydraulic and infrastructure works;
• Familiarity with FIDIC Conditions of Contract, SATCC standards and Eurocodes;
• Experience in donor-funded projects (AfDB, WB, EU, etc.) is an advantage;
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Preferable Experience: 

• Agro-industrial infrastructure;
• Industrial parks or logistics platforms;
• Climate-resilient infrastructure;
• Multidisciplinary engineering coordination in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Project Duration: Approximate duration of assignment:

• Phase I – Studies & Design: 6 months
• Phase II – Construction Supervision & DLP: 22 months
