The Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK•CEN), created in 1952, is a Foundation of Public Utility with a legal status according to private law under the tutorial of the Belgian federal Minister in charge of Energy.

SCK•CEN is one of the largest research centres in Belgium with laboratories in Mol and registered office in Brussels. Today, about 700 employees advance the peaceful industrial and medical applications of ionising radiation and contribute to SCK•CEN's overall purpose: maintain a centre of excellence for research and peaceful applications of nuclear science.
