Heroes Oasis Counseling Centre

Heroes Oasis Counseling Centre (HOCC) is an NGO that was registered under the NGOs Act in May 2016. Our objective is to provide Psychological support (addressing mental health issues), psychosocial support (economic and social empowerment) and Logistical support for families of members of the disciplined forces in Kenya, and prison inmates. 

In collaboration with her partners, International Professional Counselors Centre and International Christian Centre, Heroes Oasis has been involved in various programs in the prisons on voluntary basis over the last 2 years, the main focus being on psychosocial support, health education and counseling. Much as any inmate or prison staff is invited in our activities, we pay special attention to gender based violence (GBV) victims, people living with HIV & AIDS (PLHIV) and people who are on TB treatment. We have been involved in the facilitation of Psychosocial support groups (PSSG); trained on PHDP (positive health and dignified prevention); trained on nutritional issues with special attention to under 5 years children living with their mothers in the prisons; trained on and facilitated the creation of income generating activities including vegetable gardens, and chicken & rabbit rearing projects.

We have also run our psychological and psychosocial support programs for families of members of the disciplined forces in over 15 counties in Kenya.
