Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is a non-governmental organization based in Syria. It is an U.S. development and humanitarian assistance organization founded in Washington, DC, USA in 1952. Global Communities is involved in economic and urban growth, disaster response and advances in global health, governance and the development of democracy.

Global Communities’ strategic mission is to catalyse long-term positive change in low- to moderate-income communities around the globe with a company philosophy of “Building a Better World”. It is a leading implementer of housing programs, helping thousands of vulnerable social groups, including Syrians. Its team empowers millions of people a year to improve their lives and livelihoods and give them a chance for a better future.

Global Communities helps Syrians to cope with huge demographic shifts, builds resilience and provides protection during crises. Global Communities pays special attention to food security and agriculture by giving farmers seeds, tools and livestock. It also supports agriculture in camps by researching and advising on the sorts of crops most suitable for kitchen gardens. In addition, Global Communities develops community-level infrastructures in order to provide thousands of people with access to irrigation systems and a sustainable supply of safe water for consumption and hygiene. Shelters, kits and housing stock are also provided to those in need. Global Communities supports and protects women, girls, children, refugees and the displaced.
