About

About the British Council Morocco
We support peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide.

We uniquely combine the UK’s deep expertise in arts and culture, education and the English language, our global presence and relationships in over 100 countries, our unparalleled access to young people and influencers and our creative sparkle.

We work directly with individuals to help them gain the skills, confidence and connections to transform their lives and shape a better world in partnership with the UK. We support them to build networks and explore creative ideas, to learn English, to get a high-quality education and to gain internationally recognised qualifications.

The British Council in Morocco
The first British Council’s office in Morocco opened in 1960 in Rabat. In 2002 and we opened a teaching centre in Casablanca.

We work in four key areas: English, arts, education and society, with a focus on young learners and the themes of ‘employability’ and ‘voice’. We aim to support young people to achieve the education and skills needed to maximise their future careers and give them a 'voice' in society.

  • English: we work with universities and partners to provide continuous professional development for learners and teachers throughout Morocco.
  • Arts: we showcase contemporary works from the UK, and develop skills for the creative sector.
  • Education: we build links between the UK and Morocco’s higher education sector, including university partnerships and the internationalisation of higher education.
  • Society: we help Moroccan women and young people to gain the skills and confidence to speak up and be heard.
