About
The National Anti-Doping Organization of the French Community of Belgium (ONAD) promotes the values of healthy sport and fights against cheating involving illegal performance-boosting substances.
ONAD was created in 2003 and since then has enforced the rules introduced by the World Anti-Doping Agency(WADA) in order to raise the awareness of both amateur and professional athletes of all ages regarding the negative effects of doping.
ONAD is responsible for conducting targeted and random doping controls on all athletes in order to maintain the integrity of sport and create safe and equal conditions for all athletes. It conducts doping tests in six different zones of Belgium to ensure more effective monitoring of athletes.
The tests are conducted by recruited doctors who are empowered to carry out examinations of urine and blood samples in order to identify illegal substances potentially consumed by athletes and all ONAD employees are obligated to respect the integrity, security and identity of the samples as well as the privacy and dignity of all the tested individuals.
