Caritas Kitui

Caritas Kitui is the DEVELOPMENT ARM OF THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF KITUI and was established in 1978. It promotes social Justice as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings. Caritas Kitui over the years has implemented projects towards Integral Human Development which are anchored on three main themes: -Innovation, Transformation, and Sustenance through Integration and Human Rights Approach

Vision: A transformed community enjoying enhanced human dignity through integral human development inspired by the Love of God.

Mission:

Inspired by the love of God to promote Integral Human Development through collaborative and impartial intervention, to achieve a self-sustainable community of persons

To achieve these Caritas Kitui projects are clustered into 5 thematic areas: Sustainable livelihood, Disaster and Humanitarian Response, Governance and advocacy, Environment and climate change, and Institutional development.

In its endeavor, Caritas Kitui puts the community at the Centre of its work and promotes consultations and cooperation with its stakeholders and with a key focus on ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in its operations towards promoting the common good and solidarity for holistic human growth and development. Caritas Promotes Agro-Ecology, aggregation and Value addition Human Rights approaches, CMDRR, Savings and Lending among community Groups, People driven governance through promotion of public participation  etc

Caritas also adheres to her commitments to deliver services to all according to locally regionally and internationally acceptable standards without any form of discrimination.
