MSH - Management Sciences for Health (Malawi)

Eighty-five percent of Malawians live in rural or hard-to-reach areas with limited access to quality health services. High rates of HIV and AIDS and maternal and child mortality are exacerbated by a severe shortage of health workers. Starting with child health programs in 2003, MSH has worked to strengthen Malawi’s health system through financial and pharmaceutical management. Over time, MSH’s work has expanded to community-based family planning, HIV testing and preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission, strengthening TB programs, improving pneumonia and diarrhea treatment, and prioritizing service expansion to remote communities.
