SAROB Cooperative

SAROB was founded in 2011 and is organized as a non-commercial cooperative with self-employed agricultural advisors being its members. In November 2019, there are 247 full members with a total of 260 agricultural advisors working under the umbrella of SAROB. Members and affiliated agricultural advisors of SAROB are working in all districts of Tajikistan.

Sarob is the umbrella organization functioning as a cooperative that supports the professional development of a national network of sustainable agriculture advisory businesses. Our goal is the comprehensive development of agriculture through capacity building, improving access to the market, and ensuring farmers have the necessary agricultural inputs. As part of our work we provide theoretical and practical training and help farmers to implement new technologies and machinery through demonstrations in the field.

Membership for International Organization: SAROB - a member of Better Cotton Initiatives from 2013 and promoting BCI in Central Asian Countries.  

Cooperation in Tajikistan: SAROB is actively cooperating with GIZ/BMZ, EU, UNDP, DFID, FAO, BCI, Helvetas, AKF, AFC, ACTED, MSDSP as well as local partners: Ministry of Agriculture, Academy of Agriculture Science, Universities and Government of regions of Tajikistan.

Cooperation in the Central Asian Region: SAROB cooperating with GIZ, IKEA, and LDC.
