About

Association internationale des libraires francophones (AILF, Eng: The International Association of Francophone Booksellers) was founded in Paris in 2002 when it comprised 40 booksellers from 30 different nations.

The AILF now brings together 100 booksellers from 60 nations to demonstrate the importance of booksellers in the spread and promotion of the French language and all the cultures in which it is reflected.

AILF's mission is to promote the French language and French-speaking cultures by connecting French-speaking booksellers around the world and French-speaking booksellers play a vital role in this. The association also seeks to foster long-term ties among all stakeholders in the book industry, including authors, publishers, librarians and cultural leaders.
