About

The Congolese Integration Network (CIN) is organized to facilitate the social, economic, cultural, and spiritual integration of Congolese immigrants and refugees into American society by providing access to critical resources to empower them in the King County area in Washington State.

CIN provides services and resources to individual Congolese immigrants and refugees in King County, including: housing assistance system navigation, free translation and interpretation services, mentorship programs, provision of safe places for victims of domestic violence, food and clothing, welcoming of new refugees, job placement, reference to legal help, transportation assistance, and financial support for community funeral arrangements. These activities comprise approximately 40% of CIN’s time.

CIN also organizes community events and partners with community leaders and organizations in King County to raise awareness of its mission, to educate the public about the local Congolese community and the history of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and to create a sense of community for Congolese immigrants and refugees. These activities comprise approximately 40% of CIN’s time.

CIN raises funds from government agencies, community foundations, and private foundations within Washington State. This activity is conducted by CIN’s officers and board of directors by applying for grants and comprises approximately 20% of CIN’s time. It furthers CIN’s exempt purpose by increasing funds available to carry out CIN’s mission
