Himalayan Environment Livelihood Promotion Society (HELP)

Himalayan Environment Livelihood Promotion Society (HELP) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with head office situated at foothills of Himalayas under Kumaon region in Haldwani, Uttarakhand & administrative office at Dehradun; capital of Uttarakhand. HELP society formerly known as Uttarakhand Mahila Utthan Samiti was established in the year 1995. Founder of HELP society is Ms. Renu Tomar, resident of Haldwani is well known legend, who is working since many years for development of rural & tribal areas in the hills of Uttarakhand.

The organization HELP operates through committed and dedicated people, who have developed support and trust with the communities. The operational strategy includes empowering the poor to become self reliant through continuous experience sharing workshops, exposure visits, skill building and training. Orientation programs on livelihood, health, education, agri-business. The effort shall be made to enhance income through the use of organic farming systems technology. The organization is also working in the field of watershed programs. The organization strongly believes in working with others and learning from others experience and networking with government and local groups.
