About

Located at Prek Leap Ward, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh City, Prek Leap National College of Agriculture, was founded in 1950 and closed during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979, but formally reopened in 1984.

Cambodia has an agriculture-based economy. About 85 percent of the country’s workforce is engaged in agricultural activities. The school has a vision and understanding, that if we build a greater human resource capacity to meet the agricultural challenge, it will be able to alleviate poverty to a great extent, and build up the economy and life-standards of farmers. This will lead to a stable society with development opportunities. The role of PNCA is to take a proactive approach in education and training with emphasis on subjects in agriculture and other relevant areas. The school’s main purposes are:
  1. To educate graduates in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
  2. To train agricultural extension workers and farmers in agriculture and rural development.
  3. To disseminate proper agricultural knowledge and technology to farmers.
  4. To carry out research and compile and document production techniques.
  5. To co-operate with local and international institutions to increase the teaching capacity and human resources at the school.
