Regional Agency for Environmental Protection Ligure (ARPAL)

ARPAL is the public body of reference in environmental matters, operational since 1 January 1998.

The services provided by Arpal are mainly attributable to the following functions:

• environmental control and surveillance;
• technical support for environmental and health emergencies and participation in emergency plans;
• management of land registers and environmental and meteorological monitoring networks;
• management of the laboratory network for environmental protection;
• elaboration of technical investigations towards the requesting and proceeding administrations;
• technical-scientific support to the competent institutional levels;
• support for carrying out activities related to the collective prevention functions of the Health Service;
• activities relating to plant safety in living and working environments;
• activities relating to training programs on environmental matters and in other subjects in which he has acquired technical competence;
• regional meteo-hydrological reviews.
