For over 30 years ADD International has been supporting organisations of disability activists to fight discrimination and ensure every disabled person gets a fighting chance at living their best life. Fighting for independence, equality and opportunities for disabled people living in poverty. Disabled people living in extreme poverty are among the most vulnerable, marginalised and discriminated people on the planet. Often, they have no access to basic human rights, such as dignity and respect, education, and the opportunity to work.
In Tanzania, like many countries, disability is highly stigmatised and can lead to barriers of discrimination and exclusion. We work to build an inclusive society that understands disability as part and parcel of human diversity and that ensures that all development activities provide benefit for all. In Tanzania our key focus is tackling the exclusion of disabled children from all aspects of education.
