Agri-ProFocus (now Netherlands Food Partnership - NFP)

The Agri-ProFocus network members are organisations and companies that gather, train, connect and provide inputs and credit to farmer entrepreneurs and producer organisations.

Agri-ProFocus as a network offers a central ‘marketplace’ where organisations, professionals, resources and knowledge come together.

Our job as ‘market supervisor’ is to create an attractive space for professionals to meet, exchange information and connections and find the answers to specific questions, for example:

How can I gain access to local markets in Ethiopia?
Which cooperatives in Benin sell a good quality of pineapple?
Where can I find a subsidy or credit to increase my business?

Agri-ProFocus facilitates:

• Brokering between professionals and organisations/ companies.
• Linkages to external stakeholders (lobby and advocacy).
• Learning and innovation.
• Coordination and harmonisation of existing efforts.
• Events, such as expert meetings.

The network provides triggers such as access to valuable local contacts, cooperatives ready to do business with international buyers, a place to market goods and a way to generate publicity for new products and/or services.

The outcome consists of better farm-firm relations, new farm-bank deals (e.g. through our agri-finance fairs), innovative services, policy improvements and public investments.
