About

The winemaking tradition of the Alfonso Del Sordo family dates back to the 1800s, when some members of the family, passionate farmers, began the cultivation of vines on the family estates located in the countryside of San Severo: Baron Antonio Del Sordo who had cultivation of the vine a part of his possessions located in the territories of San Severo and Lucera and Ludovico D'Alfonso, a passionate winemaker, who already in those days was choosing the best grapes from his vineyards and making wine in the basement of his home.

Located at the foot of the Gargano promontory, the "Coppanetta" estate of about 30 hectares - 25 planted with vineyards, is the beating heart of our productions.
The vineyards of this estate, some of which are over 40 years old, stand on calcareous and clayey soils, ideal for the cultivation of vines such as Bombino bianco and Moscato.
The company center is located here, where the cellar for winemaking and the cellar for bottling are located. In the vinification cellar all the grapes, coming exclusively from the vineyards owned by Gianfelice D'Alfonso Del Sordo, are processed according to the most modern technologies.
For the white wines, the grapes are softly pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with the aid of selected yeasts. For the red wines, a careful and delicate control of the grape harvest is carried out, all by hand, to guarantee the integrity of the berries, followed by destemming and a long maceration, the duration of which varies according to the type of grapes.
In the basement of the bottling cellar, intended for the refinement of the wines, there are oak barrels and barriques. All phases of wine preparation, from vinification to refinement, up to bottling, are controlled daily by analyzes carried out by the internal laboratory.
