About

Our action is based on a triple observation:

  1. Humanitarian practices have become complex, the actors of international solidarity are changing as well as the contexts of intervention. International donors, NGOs, local partners are led to modify their strategies and methods and technicians to evolve in their professional practice. However, the projects invariably come up against a dispersion of means and shortcomings in the implementation. The issues of human and material resources, construction techniques, management and planning tools, environmental challenges, are not sufficiently integrated into a global and sustainable development agenda.
  2. However, the right to a sustainable habitat for all is becoming a major development policy issue, because of the phenomena of generalized urbanization which are profoundly modifying the relationship between town and country and leading to profound imbalances in the processes of economic, cultural and social development. social. Post-crisis or post-disaster humanitarian interventions struggle to respond effectively and sustainably to the essential needs of vulnerable populations.
  3. The skills of (re)construction operators, often generalist NGOs, are out of step with the reality of local construction practices, underestimate the impact of emergency programs on the built environment, do not master the issues of quality and safety of buildings, hardly take users into account and ultimately behave as providers of square meters instead of fitting into a vision of global, multi-sectoral (re)construction integrated with other social, economic and cultural objectives, guarantors of more viable and sustainable development.
