BGHEI - Beijing Gender Health Education Institute

The Beijing Gender Health Education Institute (BGHEI) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization founded in 2002. One of the first Chinese NGOs to focus on issues related to gender, sexuality and sexual health, BGHEI’s mission is to advocate and raise awareness about sexual diversity and equality in Chinese society. BGHEI conducts classes, training, and counseling for different social groups in China. Examples of activities include annual “Queer University” trainings, the China LGBT Community Leader Conference, institutional backing for grassroots activities like LGBT webcast Queer Comrades and sexual health forums, and public events like the China Rainbow Media Awards and the China AIDS Walk.
