About

Humana People to People Baltic (HPPB) was founded in the beginning of 1998. The idea was to establish an organization in Lithuania that could raise funds to support development for poor and disadvantaged people in the world. To do this through a network of shops selling second hand clothes and using the surplus from this activity for Humana People to People\'s projects in developing countries.

The first Humana shop in Lithuania was opened in May 1998 and since then every year some new ones have been opened. In order to respond to growing standards of environment protection and need for quality clothes for shops, the HPPB engaged in sorting as well: its Sorting Centre started to work already in the autumn of 1998. For the time being (2013) there are 59 Humana shops all over the country, and the Sorting Centre in Vilnius sorts more than 500 tons of second hand textiles every week. In February 2013, HPPB has moved to its new and more spacious location in Kibirkšties street 6 in Vilnius.

HPPB activities are succesfull and the organization can support more than 40 very good partnership projects in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America and broaden the scope of the Social Partnership Programe in Lithuania while also being an expert source of fashionable and good quality clothes at very affordable prices for many Lithuanians.
