We have 50 years of experience in converting hazardous waste into energy (since Kommunekemi was established in 1971). We create value through electricity, district heating, metals - such as iron, zinc and copper - and other useful resources that can be used again in many contexts. The residual products from our treatment, e.g. slag, fly ash and filter cake are sent to NOAH AS in Norway, which treats and disposes of environmentally hazardous waste.

Our purpose is to protect nature's resources through sustainable solutions. We improve our customers' processes by offering complete solutions for detoxification, recycling, recovery and final treatment of hazardous waste .
