About Us
The African Regional Organisation of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-Africa) is a pan-African trade union organisation created in November 2007 following the merger of two former African trade union organisations, namely ICFTU-Afro and DOAWTU.
ITUC-Africa has 17 million declared members and 101 affiliated trade union centres in 51 African countries. The headquarters of ITUC-Africa is now in Lome, Togo.
The name of ITUC-Africa’s President is Mody Guiro. The name of the General Secretary is Kwasi Adu-Amankwah.

Aims & Objectives
Our Aims and Objectives as ITUC-Africa are :
Strives for full productive and decent employment, elimination of discrimination based on race, sex, nationality or creed
Fights for improvement of working and living conditions, introduction, maintenance and extension of social security for all and raising workers living standards.
Maintains and develops strong, independent, democratic, powerful and effective international, national, sub-regional, regional, continental organizations of free trade unions.
Seeks the universal recognition and application of trade union rights.
Furthers the establishment, maintenance and development of trade union organizations.
Strengthens international trade union solidarity giving assistance to oppression, repression victims and other sufferers due to natural and industrial disasters
Coordinates defence of free trade unions against any campaign destroying rights through infiltration and subjugation of labour organizations by totalitarian or other anti labour forces.
Assists war and subjugation victims through speedy rebuilding of economies.
Develops resources of countries to promote economic, social and cultural progress.
Protects, maintains and expands free labour and eliminates forced labour.

Vision of ITUC-Africa
The vision of ITUC-Africa is to achieve a united, democratic and independent regional trade union organization that works for the welfare of all African workers, in a world where everyone can realize their full potentials under conditions of freedom, equality and social justice.
Mission of ITUC-Africa
To attain the above vision, ITUC-Africa has set itself a mission to strengthen the trade unions in Africa and provide a common voice for all African workers to realise a healthy and safe working environment and a decent life for all by fighting all forms of exploitation and discrimination, defending human and trade union rights, promoting social justice, peace, democracy and vigorously pursuing the preservation of the environment.
