THE EUROPEAN POLICIES CENTER
OUR TASKS
For all Member States, the policies of the European Union are of fundamental importance, frequently underestimated. The cep, as a specialized study center on European policies with specific economic and legal expertise, through its approximately 30 collaborators, provides the necessary solid and at the same time neutral support on these aspects.

• we provide a comprehensive and up-to-date background knowledge on European politics, continuously monitoring EU policies relevant to the national economy.
• we develop concepts and strategies for future EU policies.
• we prepare analyzes and impact assessments of the decision-making procedures in progress, before the relative acts are adopted.
• we promote transparency and awareness of European policies and their effects, also encouraging the participation of the various stakeholders in the decision-making phase.
• we exert influence on the decision-making and political process, informing and advising decision-makers, the media, stakeholders and public opinion.

OUR MISSION
The liberal principles embodied in the social market economy model form the scientific foundation of our work.

We are committed to

• consolidate democratic, liberal and constitutional structures in Europe.
• a free and united Europe, 
• complete the internal market, without regulatory barriers at internal borders and with free and efficient competition throughout the EU. 
• achieve an adequate distribution of competences in line with the principle of subsidiarity. 
• limit regulation and red tape in the EU to the minimum necessary.

THE NET
The cepInternational network is primarily supported by the non-profit foundation "Ordnungspolitik" and by any other body, organization or company interested in our activities.

cep in Deutschland
cep in Germany was founded in 2005 and operates in the nature of a non-profit, general interest foundation from its offices in Freiburg and Berlin.

cepFrance
cep France was founded in 2019 as a non-profit foundation (fonds de dotation) based in Paris.

cepItalia
It is currently structured in the form of a "Committee" for the promotion of a Third Sector Foundation and operates mainly from Rome.

The three centers also want to contribute to a better mutual understanding of the often very different interests of their respective countries and to develop proposals for solutions based on consensus within the framework of the social market economy model.
Further partner institutes in other EU member states are planned in the future.

NON-PROFIT AND INDEPENDENCE
The CEP's activities meet the general interest and non-profit requirements. This obliges us to be independent of special interests and to be neutral with respect to party politics.
