About
The group of charitable organizations "Depol" was founded in 1989 in Great Britain. The initiator of the creation was the late Cardinal Basil Hume (1923-1999), and the goal was to solve the problem of the growing number of homeless people on the streets of London. Cardinal Hume brought together the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, the Society of St Vincent de Paul and the Day Center in Victoria, London. The ideological inspiration for each of them was the activity of St. Vincent De Paul (1581-1660). Depole quickly grew into a national charity in the UK, and from 2002 began expanding internationally, starting with Ireland. Two years later, Depole International, later known as the Depole Foundation, was created, and later became the parent organization for the Group, which is growing rapidly and globally to fight homelessness on a global level.
