Research Center for Forest Ecology and Environment (RIFEE)

RCFEE is a specialized independent research organization under Forest Science Institute of Vietnam (FSIV). It was established in 1990 to address the need of creating and transforming scientific researches into ecological and economical sound solution for sustainable forest management and development.

RCFEE research encompasses a wide range of activities, from tree improvement using biotechnology to community forest protection by promotion of indigenous knowledge. Three main Research and Development (R & D) programs of RCFEE are:

• sustainable uses of forests and forestland
• forest ecology and physiology
• environmental monitoring, prediction and assessment.

RCFEE brings together more than 30 researchers and a complete set of facilities. It operates through specialist, and often multi-disciplinary research groups which have diverse interest, but are united by a common desire to make an optimal use of the forest resources for economic development while keeping it sustainable for our next generations.
