Nile Consultants is an Egyptian consulting firm specialized in Water Policy and Management,Agricultural Development, Coastal and Harbor Engineering and Management ,Water Supply andSanitationEnvironmental Assessment,and Socio-economic and Institutional Strengthening The firm is located in Degla , Maadi a suburb of Cairo , and is managed by Dr. Mohamed Nasr Allam who has obtained in 1982 his D.Sc. in Water Resources Planning from M.I.T , USA . The firm is equipped with a technical and scientific library with more than 2000 textbooks and technical reports, computer network, Internet, colored laser printers and plotters, and audio & video presentation facilities. The firm has an audited overhead, by Allied Accountants, a member firm of Arthur Anderson. Nile Consultants is a medium size firm with permanent, long-term and short-term employees. The permanent expression is used for the headquarters employees with a total number of only 17 persons. Long-term employees are those who are working on long-term (more than one year) projects with a total number of 75 experts, engineers and support staff. Short-term appointments from University staff and from the National Water Research Centers (more than 70 professionals) are made all the time for most of the projects carried out by Nile Consultants.
