Harmee Education for Development of Association (HEfDA) is a local non-government organization  initiated by individuals of good will to work closely with the local communities to eradicate  illiteracy, promote functional/basic and development education, support public schools to improve education quality, improve the skills of the rural communities to improve productivity and living quality, improve social services and infrastructure, encourage and support people with disabilities,
 enhance social relations and ensure technical and economic empowerment of the people at grassroots level.

Accompany and support the people in their efforts of improving their economic condition and social relations.

 Respect to the human dignity, the cultural and moral values of the people

 Solidarity with the minority, marginalized and the underprivileged individuals and groups

Guiding principles
HEfDA is guided by the following principles:
1 Free from religious, political and ethnic affiliations  
2 Pursuing social equality in all HEfDA interventions 
3 Follows community based development approach ensuring authentic community participation at all levels and ownership of the development programs
4 Encourages the communities to realize their potential and apply their indigenous knowledge and skills to achieve self-reliance. 
5 Emphasis to human development and peaceful co-existence of people 
6 Work closely with the government structures and complement the efforts of the local government in improving the social services and promotion of community development. 

Objectives of HEfDA
1. To enhance the participation of the communities in general and women in particular in social  and development work
2. To ensure that the practical and strategic needs of women are met 
3. To mitigate challenges to female education and encourage and support female students for improved participation and academic performance in formal education system
4. To encourage and support the most marginalized men, women, children and youth
5. To enhance the skills of the people for improved production, productivity and living quality
6. To support community efforts to improve basic infrastructure and services
7. To ensure decent and quality of life of the citizens
