Agro-Pastoral Charity Organization (APCO) was established in December 1998 just after the collapse of the Somali central government; it is one of the most successful and consistent community-based, non-profit, humanitarian and development NGO and APCO was registered as a community-based organization (CBO) in Somalia. However, Agro-Pastoral Charity Organization (APCO) particularly targets the most vulnerable members of society mainly women and children, it focuses on issues of WASH, Health, Livelihood, Education, Skill Development, as well as other human rights issues such as Protection, HIV/AIDs, Gender with special focus on women and youth empowerment through civic education, skill development, intensive employment and income generation activities (IGA). Therefore, to achieve its intended interventions, APCO works directly with beneficiary communities at large to identify their needs and found appropriate solutions. In conclusion, APCO has extensive working experience, technical expertise, collaboration and credibility with beneficiary communities. It constantly promotes community participation in project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation in order to improve the accountability, transparency and sustainability of its interventions.
