Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights

Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights is a progressive, pro-choice charitable organization committed to advancing and upholding sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and globally.

Founded in 2014, three of Canada’s leading sexual and reproductive health and rights organizations saw an opportunity for a strengthened voice in international and national policy, education and access as well as a way to engage others across Canada and around the world in the sexual and reproductive health and rights movement.

Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights is a national organization dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice in Canada and globally. Grounded in principles of human rights, bodily autonomy, and gender equality, the organization works to ensure that all people can make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive lives and access the services, information, and supports they need to do so safely and freely.

Its work focuses on improving access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, promoting evidence‑based sexual health education, and advocating for policies that protect and expand human rights. The organization invests in initiatives addressing abortion access, sexual health equity, LGBTQI+ rights, gender justice, and the reduction of stigma and discrimination. It also supports global solidarity efforts that strengthen the capacity of movements defending sexual and reproductive rights worldwide.

Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights operates across Canada while also partnering with international networks and organizations. Its national programs reach communities in every province and territory, and its global work engages with partners in regions where sexual and reproductive rights are under threat or under-resourced.

The organization supports individuals seeking sexual and reproductive health information and services, as well as community organizations, educators, health‑care providers, policy advocates, and global human‑rights partners. It collaborates with groups committed to advancing reproductive justice, strengthening health systems, and promoting inclusive policy environments that respect the autonomy and dignity of all people.

Funding is structured through program‑specific investments, multi‑year partnerships, grants, and recurring support for national and international initiatives. By offering sustained and flexible funding combined with evidence‑based advocacy, Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights ensures continuity in essential services and advances long‑term progress toward sexual and reproductive health and rights for all.

Action Canada is building on the 50-year legacy of our predecessor organizations. We are: The Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada, Canadians for Choice, the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health, and Action Canada for Population and Development.
