About
The Human Rights Defence Centre (KEPAD) was established in June 1998, as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, by a group of human rights experts with the aim to promote and protect human rights in Greece and the wider region. The objectives of the Centre include providing practical knowledge on human rights issues, raising awareness, training, mobilization for the improvement of the situation concerning the application of human rights. The Centre provides also assistance and protection to persons belonging to vulnerable social groups.
Target groups addressed:
- Vulnerable groups with particular focus on victims of trafficking
- Migrants
- Women and children
- Students
- General population.
Activities
- Provide practical knowledge on human rights issues;
- Raise awareness for more effective application of human rights;
- Provide assistance and protection to persons belonging to vulnerable social groups;
- Initiate research on human rights issues with particular focus in trafficking in human beings and migration;
- Training and awareness raising.
