acatech – Deutsche Akademie Der Technikwissenschaften

acatech - German Academy of Engineering Sciences is the national academy and voice of technical sciences at home and abroad, funded by the federal government and the federal states. We advise politics and society in questions of technological science and technology policy. Under the auspices of the Federal President, we fulfill our advisory mandate independently, fact-based and in the interest of the common good.

acatech brings together science, business and society. The members of the Academy are outstanding scientists from the engineering and natural sciences, medicine and the humanities and social sciences. The senators are personalities from technology-oriented companies and associations as well as the major science organizations.

In the Academy's projects, the scientific members work together with external experts from science and industry. The work results will be presented to politicians, industry, academia and the interested public in the form of publications and events.

The German Academy of Science and Technology finances itself as a non-profit organization funded by the federal government and by states, both public and private. Private donations are recruited by the acatech Förderverein.
