Its services focusing on developing institutional, social and economic development support in public and private sector. SDIC extend services to support development initiatives ranging from governance, institutional capacity development and planning with due attention on social and environmental issues at national and sub nation levels.

Governance crisis, institutional weaknesses, poor functioning of public agencies, weak planning practices has attributed the poor performance of the country's socio-economy. Therefore, SDIC was established in 2010 as a company under Company Act of Nepal to facilitate development needs of those functions in all development sectors. SDIC is providing support to governments, I/NGOs and donor agencies in their development efforts in the areas of survey, research & studies, training & capacity building, project planning, monitoring & evaluation and policy formulation.
